The following map displays the rain rate derived from WindSat microwave brightness temperature measurements that were utilized as part of the wind vector retrieval process. For additional information on WindSat, please visit IPO WindSat web site. The map below has been divided into 30x20 degree bins for closer examination between latitudes of 80N to 80S and longitudes of 180W to 180E. Click on the desired geographical location to zoom in on a particular 30x20 degree bin. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Please Note: These rain rate products are derived as part of the preliminary wind vector retrieval algorithm developed at NOAA/NESDIS that has not yet been fully validated. Also, this web site is not maintained with 24x7 support.
